PRIME MINISTER SPEAKS (9 a.m.) ROME, Sept. 27.
Italy hoped to have direct negot.rations and direct agreements with Yugoslavia' on the basis of future collaboration, said the Prime Minister, Signor Parri, addressing the Consult'! ice Assembly.
He said he considered that FrancbItaiian relations would be decisive lor the tuture state of Europe. Ita 1 ;. also was particularly interested in the envelopment of her relations with Ladn America and all Italians in the two Americas.
Referring to the Foreign Ministers’ conference, Signor Parri said “I do net mean to hide that our future is still uncertain concerning some points which weigh heavily upon us. We must not forget that we have been admitted to these conferences as a defeated nation and are able only to endeavour to defend our rights and unable to initiate negotiations. This is sufficient to measure the gravity of our misfortune and the responsibilities of the culprits.” After emphasising Italy’s debt to the Allies, particularly the United States, Signor Parri said that the Government had formulated plans for financing Italy's internal affairs for submission to the United States.
