CONSUL-GENERAL IN U.S.
AUSTRALIAN APPOINTEE CANBERRA, Sept. 3. The appointment of Mr. C. V. Keilvvay as Consul-General l'or Australia in New York is announced by the Minister of External Affairs, Dr. H. L. Evatt. This is the first consular appointment made by the Australian Government. Dr. Evatt said it had been decided that the appointment of officers specifically charged with a range of consular duties was how desirable in cities where Australia had special interests. Mr. Kellway has had a long career as a member of the public service. Since 1942 he has been deputy DirectorGeneral for Australian war supplies procurement in the United States.
