' GOLF AT AWAPUNI R. A. DUDFIELD’S NET 71 Second-round matches in the August Handicap tournaments were of chief interest on the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s links at Awapuni on Saturday, and a feature of the afternoon s scoring was the 71 net scored by R. A. Dudfield, in his match with W. R. Willock. Dudfield qualified for a further reduction of his handicap, and had a margin of seven strokes on the next best in the medal match played in conjunction with the August handicap fixtures. F. Fenwick was second in the medal match, with a net 7S, and I. H. O’Meara, with a handicap of IG, netted 79 for the round. Match-play results were;—

Members of the Wairoa Golf Club will visit Awapuni next week-end for a match with the Poverty Bay club representatives. A week-end working-bee on the links produced an attendance of 32 members, several of whom declared after a morning’s work that they had produced, with spade or shovel, their best form of the season.
