INTER DOMINION TROTS

PLANS FOR RESUMPTION MISSION TO~AUSTRALIA (9 a.rn.) SYDNEY, Feb. 8. A delegation from the New Zealand Trotting Board is to visit Australia soon to discuss all aspects of trotting and its future with the Australian authorities, it is reported here, All the States will probably be visited and arrangements have already been made for the delegation to have a special conference with the Western Australian Trotting Association. The visit follows recent discussions which the president of the association, Mr. J. I’. Stratton, had while in New Zealand. One of the main topics for discussion will be the resumption of inter-Dominion championships which are regarded as the Melbourne Cup of Trotting. According to Mr. Stratton New Zealanders ivei'i enthusiastically in favour of the championships being resumed ns early as possible.

Other items for consideration will include the method of conducting the championships, it being suggested that they should be on a standing start basis, a handicap race anil a points system.
