NOMINEE WITHDRAWS

MEAT BOARD ELECTION

FARMERS’ UNION MAN

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 17. The Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Mr. W. W. Muiholland, announces that H. Briscoe Moore, an official union nominee as a candidate for fhe Meat Board, has voluntarily withdrawn his nomination with the agreement of the Farmers’ Union. This has been done primarily to assist in promoting the projected fusion of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Sheepowners’ Federation and other producer organisations, the union having been satisfied by Mr. F. C. Johnsrone that its policy of co-operative ownership and control of freezing works will be safeguarded.
