FOUR CANDIDATES
THE LYTTELTON SEAT (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. July 9 Mr. E. B. E. Taylor, who contested the Westland seat in 193.8. has been Chosen as the official National Party candidate for the Lyttelton seat. Mr. Taylor, who is a ’ Barrister and solicitor, is a son of the late Mr. T. E. Taylor, member 6f Parliament for Christchurch North for many years and also Mayor of Christchurch. In the 1938 election, Mr. Taylor polled 3902 votes against 7631 bait' for The sitting member, the Hon. J. O’Brien, now Minister of Transport.
Including the sitting member, Mr. Mr. T. H. McCornbS, * there ' are now four candidates 'for the Lyttelton seat. The People's Movement is sponsoring an Independent. Mr. H. Bliss, and the Real ■ Democracy 1 Movement’s candidate is' Mr. L A. Jarden.' The Democratic Soldier Labour Party'is a},so calling for nominations.
