ELECTION CAMPAIGN
NATIONALIST MEETINGS Two more meetings of National Party branches have been held this week to further arrangements for the organisation of the party and preparation for ’ the coming ' election ’campaign.
A well-attended meeting at Frasertown, one of tlie largest branches in the electorate, heard ah address by Mr Theo Hills, organiser for the'Wellington division. ' Those present included a number from ‘more remote parts of the district', including several from Ardkeen. The chairman of the Frasertown branch is Mr. T. Davey, and the secretary Mr. A'. H. H. Unwin.
The first meeting of the Makaraka branch was addressed by the electorate chairman, Mr. I. J. Quigley, who explained the methods by which the party functioned and the procedure for selecting a candidate. Considerable interest and enthusiasm was displayed and it was reported that there ‘was already a substantial membership of the. branch. Officers of .the branch are as follows: Chairman, Mr. H. Lange; secretary, Mr.” P. 'W. Matthews;' committee, Mesdames Lange, Mills, and C. H. Baigent, and’’Messrs". Mills, B. C. Parker,. C. L. Baigent',' F- W. peddle, and H. G. Kemp; delegates to the electorate committee, Messrs Lange and Mat't.hews.
