SHEEP VALUES DECLINE WESTFIELD MARKET (P.A.I AUCKLAND, May 13. At the Westfield stock sale yesterday there was a bis entry of beef. Competition throughout was keen and a very firm sale resulted for all classes. Extra choice ox made £1 ISs per 10011:.'. choice and prime, £1 15s to £1 17s; secondary and plain, £1 11s to £! 13s; extra prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 11s to £l_ 15s; choice and prime, £1 Ss to £1 10s; ordinary cow, £1 3s to £1 ss. Extra heavy prime steers made £l4 10s to £ls 7s Gd; heavy, £l3 10s to £l4; lighter, £l2 Ills to £l3; small and unfinished, £8 10s to £lO 10s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lu 10s to £l2 ss; heavy prime, £9 to £1(1; lighter, £7 10s to £8 10s; light, £G to £7: aged and unfinished cows, £3 to £5. There was a big entry of mutton and although competition was steady the offering proved more than equal to requirements, resulting in a drop in values for all classes. Extra heavy prime wethers made'£l 14s to £1 IGs; heavy. £1 11s to £1 12s; medium.' £1 Ss Gd to £1 10s; light, £1 Gs to £1 7s Gd ; plain and unfinished, £1 to £1 4s Gd; heavy prime young and maiden ewes, 19s to £1 2s 9d; heavy prime ewes, IGs Gd to ISs; lighter, 14s Gd to 15s Gd; plain and aged, 12s to 13s Gd. An average entry of lambs sold freely at lute rates. Heavy prime made £1 8s to £1 9s; medium, £1 5s Gd to £1 7s; lighter, £1 2s Gd to £1 11s: light, £1 to £1 Is Gd; small and plain, 3s Gd to 18s Gd. There was an extra heavy yarding of calves, tile market being over-supplied. There was a steady demand for prime quality runners and vealers, hut calves for all classes were lower, plain .and unfinished calves being most affected. Runners made £5 to £7 17s Gd; heavy vealers, £4 15s to £5 IGs; medium, £3 15s to £4 10s; light, £2 15s to £3 10s; small, £1 5s to £1 10s; unfinished and bucket fed, 15s to £1 10s; hobby and rough, 5s to ISs. A medium entry of baconers sold at recent rates while porker prices firmed. Values for stores and weaners showed a sharp rise. Choppers made £2 to £G 11s, according to weight; heavy baconers, £4 8s to £4 15s; medium, £4 to'£4 4s; light, £3 9s to £3 14s; heavy porkers, £2 18s to £3 Gs; medium, £2 12s to £2 17s; light, £2 7s to £2 10s; small and unfinished, £1 10s! to £2; stores, £1 Gs to £2 4s; slips, 16a to £1 2s; weaners, 11s to 15s.
