WAIOURU BAND
VISIT TO GISBORNE • ;/ PATRIOTIC EFFORT WELL KNOWN CARRIER Arrangements have been completed for tlie Waionru Staff Band to visit Gisborne next week to take part in activities associated with the raising of funds for patriotic purposes. The band will stay in Gisborne for a week.' It is in'Napier at present, and is expected to reach here by the express on Monday, leaving 1 again the following Monday. _ G isborne people retain pleasant memories of the 'Band of the Royal New Zealand Air. Force, which has made two visits'--to Gisborne, 1 and the Wtiionru Band, which also has A distinguished record, should appeal _to the public in an equally - effective manner. Strip* are being taken to arrange, a detailed programme, for - thri ■ visit, and for this purpose interested organisations are holding a meeting to-day. It is expected that much the same policy will be adopted for the Waionru visitors as for'the Air Force Band and that parades Ihrough the street and demonstrations will -form part of an interesting itinerary. .Plans' for* the billeting of the ”•"> members of the band are being put in hand. - 1 " : ' ,! •' ■"'
