(11 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 3. The death of J?ne Avril. aged 77 years, the famous French can-can dancer ’was announced by the Pans radio. _ , , She reached the height of her glory in Paris in 1900 and was admired and feted by kings, ambassadors, poets, and artists. She retired from the stage, married a painter, and lived in obscurity until his death, after which, poverty-stricken, she ended in an old ladies’ home in Paris.
