N.Z. ARMY SISTER MIDDLE EAST CEREMONY (N.Z.E.F. Official War Correspondent.) (9 a.m.) CAIRO. Feb. 3. A New Zealand nursing sister. Miss Mollv Rvan. was married on Saturday to CaDtain S. J. B. van. IFerden, a South African sports officer to the Union Defence Force base. The ceremony was held in the open against a background of army huts and l desert dunes. A large guard of honour was. formed by one company of New Zealanders and one company of South Africans. The. bride was given away by Colonel Duncan Stout, chief New Zealand consulting surgeon in the Middle East. Speeches at the ceremony emphasised the close bond between New Zealand and South Africa.
