WAR EFFORT

UNANIMOUS SUPPORT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day, At the annual conference of the. New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day Mr. C. C. Munro, Auckland, was elected a life member. A unanimous pledge was given by The union to do its utmost in supporting the war effort, and deep appreciation was expressed of the sacrifices, made by the men fighting the battle overseas and pledging to see that they were not let down through failure on the part of the farmers to back them up in every possible way. The conference placed on record its admiration of the magnificent spirit shown by the people of England, Scotland, -Wales and Northern Ireland during the past 2| years of war, and sent warmest greetings and best wishes for a speedy victory.
