PORTS BLASTED
GERMAN COAST 150 TONS ON HAMBURG HEAVY R.A.F. ATTACK (Elec. Tel. Copyi-ijiht—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 1. "German ports were attacked last night by strong forces of the Bomber Command aircraft,” states an Air Ministry communique. “The heaviest attack was at Hamburg where over 150 tons of bombs were dropped in bright moonlight. Large fires were left burning. Emden was also attacked by a powerful force and objectives at Kiel, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, and Lubeck were bombed. Mines were laid in enemy waters. Nineteen of our aircraft are missing.” The German news agency stated that British bombers flew over North Germany last night and dropped bombs in residential districts, damaging many houses. Several persons were killed and injured. AIMLESS NAZI BOMBING (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 1. An official communique states: “Early last night single aircraft dropped bombs harmlessly at points in south-western England. Otherwise there is nothing to report.”
