ACTION IN AUSTRALIA According to a recent announcement by the Minister for Supply in Australia. Senator McLeay. the Commonwealth Government will proceed immediately with the provision ot four distilleries costing about £1,250,000, for the production of power alcohol from wheat. They will be in NewSouth Wales, Victoria. South Australia and Western Australia, and each will have a capacity of producing 3,000,000 gallons a year. Senator McLeay stated that the distilleries would be owned by the Commonwealth Government. He added that the exact location of the distillery in each State would be settled when State reports on the suitability of sites were received.
