(I-lorald Correspondent.) A cas'd party in aid of patriotic funds was held recently at the home of Mrs. J. Atkins. The drawing-room, where cards were played, had been made bright and cheerful with spring flowers and a log fire. The winners were: Mrs. S. Binnie, 1; Mrs. G. Croon, 2. At the conclusion of .the games a delicious afternoon tea was appreciated. Mrs. M. Inn.es is a patient in a private hospital in Gisborne. —Mrs. Saggers, who has been the guest of Mrs. S. Binnie, has returned to Patutahi. —Privates T. Scholium and W. Wesehe are visiting their parents while on leave. —Mrs. R. Stewart, Tuai, has been visiting her mother, Mrs. G. Croon—Mrs. N. Wilton is a patient in the Cook Haspital.
