MOTHERS AND SONS
Y.M.C.A. BANQUET The Y.M.C.A. gymnasium presented an unusual but attractive sight on Friday evening, when a “mother and son” banquet was held and over 250 sat down at tables decorated by the members of the ladies’ auxiliary. Boys from all group. o within the association—gymnasium, boys’ divisions, scouts and cubs —together with their mothers or guardians, were invited, and the attendance was most gratifying. The president of the association, Mr. F. T. Robinson, introduced the Mayoress. Mrs. N. H. Bull, who acted as chairman of the gathering. Mr. G. C. Burton, of the Child Welfare Department, gave an address in which he pointed out the need for a right attitude towards living and stressed the fact that the necessary rebuilding in the corning years must come from the boys of the present day. Songs were given by Mrs. W. Carruthers and Master A. Mr.sernan, and .1 humorous recitation by Master C. Booth. A short period of community singing was conducted, and a roll-call held, embracing members of the board of directors, the various instructors, and members of the ladies’ auxiliary, as well as the boys in the different groups, and their mothers.
