TREATING WOUNDS

REMARKABLE PROGRESS

LONDON, May 30.

Brain specialists are reported to have made remarkable progress recently in the treatment of head wounds. Ninety per cent of patients treated for serious head injuries in one London County Council emergency hospital have been cured.

The News Chronicle states' that a neuro-surgeon at this hospital has treated hundreds of patients. He uses a local anaesthetic. A plastic surgeon co-operates when there are also facial injuries. Most of the patients are front-line civilians who have been victims of air raids. Some are paralysed.
