MEMBERS CHARGED PROHIBITED MEETING ALLEGED SUBVERSION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Two more members of the Christian Pacifist Society were charged in the Supreme Court yesterday with breaches of the public safety emergency regulations. John Whitely Bowl. carpenter, aged 28 years, was found guilty of attempting to conduct a public meeting prohibited by the superintendent of police. In remanding Boal until Friday for sentence, the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers said that if Boal would give an assurance that he would desist from activities of the society he would be heard.

The hearing of charges against Archibald Charles Barrington, secretary of the New Zealand Pacificl Society, aged 34 years, was uncompleted when the court adjourned. Barrington was charged with writing a leaflet with a view to publishing a subversive statement, with publishing and attempting to publish a subversive statement, with conducting and attempting to conduct a prohibited meeting and with taking part and attempting to take part in a prohibited meeting.
