An. interesting match, with many evenly-contested games, was played last week-end between Kopuawhara and M.I.A. tennis teams in the Shortt Cup series, resulting in a win for the visitors. The following were the results, Kopuawhara players being mentioned first in each case: Combined Doubles. —L. Anderson and Mrs. Cotter lost to R. Smith and Miss Auahi, 5 —6: IT. Taylor and Mrs. Fairlie lost to T. Whaanga and Mrs. Te Ngaio, I—6; J. Puriri and Miss Kireka d. J. Te Ngaio and Mrs. Harvey, 6 —4; L. Meha and Miss Deighton lost to IT. Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell, 2—6. Men’s Doubles.—L. Anderson and H. Taylor lost to R. Smith and T. Whaanga, 2—6; J. Puriri and L. Meha lost to J. Te Ngaio and H. Mitchell. 5—6.
