The Veteran Bowlers’ Association’s annual tournament, which was jrostponed from January 22, owing to.unfavourable weather, is to take place on the Gisborne Bowling Club’s greens to-morrow. Teams will be selected at 9 a.m. Fine Effort by Maoris As nsrt of the £1,000.000 all-ourposes patriotic appeal, the Maoris of Wairoa have raised in two months through a queen carnival the highly creditable of £7BB. At the crowning ceremony, held at the end of last week, Miss Brenda Jackson, the air force candidate, took the throne, having won from five other candidates by 10,486 votes.—Special.
