Warm commendation of the manner in which the night staff at the power station dealt with the outbreak of fire on Monday night was given at the Poverty Bay Power Board’s meeting to-day by the engineer, Mr. F. Matthevvson, who said that but for the active steps taken considerable damage must have eventuated. It was fortunate that the board had a night watchman on duty in the powerstation.
