MAN’S TRAGIC DEATH
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT MARRIED TWO WEEKS (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. Married only a fortnight, Mr. Harper Davison, aged 34, a farmer, Melville, Hamilton, was found dead in a ear shed with a gunshot wound in his head and a single barrel shotgun lying on the body. At tlie inquest the evidence showed that the deceased apparently tripped on a log which was alongside the car into which he was putting the gun to return it to his brother.
This is a tragic case, commented the coroner, Mr. F. W. Platts, in returning a verdict that the deceased died from injuries caused by the accidental discharge oil a shotgun. Here was a young man just returned from his honeymoon. He had contracted a happy marriage and had no financial worries. There was no reason why he should take his own life.
