A leaflet will be distributed during 1 the next fortnight to every hotise- • holder in Britain's official evacuation and rec ption areas, in which parents Giving in the former are asked whether they wish their children to be evacuated to a safer area in the | event of air raids, and those living 'in reception areas are asked to subscribe their names if they are willing jto receive such evacuated children. Children whose parents desire their evacuation will not leave home until air raids make this necessary, but owing to the obvious necessity to make the required preparations for so immense a scheme, parents are requested to make their decision at once. The leaflet discloses that there are over 400,000 children in the receiving areas. In response to the Government’s appeal las f year, offers were made to receive 2,300,000 children.
