EWE FAIR SEASON WAIKATO INDICATIONS IMPROVING TENDENCY The change in the weather in the Waikato after the line spell last week has strengthened the belief of many producers that the winter will be an early one. The short spell of warm, dry weather last week was of immense benefit to the district, but the week-end storm upset hopes that the dry spell would continue. Normal activity for this time of the year has been experienced at the salcyards, where there has been nothing untoward in the various transactions. There has been less activity in the breeding ewe market, but reports from most centres indicate that there has been an improvement in the market tone. Values, however, arc still below what was generally expected. All hough the peak activity of the trade is now past, there are still some large fairs to be held and values may rise as quickly as they dropped a fortnight ago. Fat stock have continued to meet with a ready demand afrd price changes have not reflected anjEunusual market trend.
