HASTINGS EWE FAIR

IMPROVED VALUES WAIROA DISTRICT PENS (Special tn the Herald.) HASTINGS, this day. Several lines from Wairoa and the district were offered at the Ewe Fair held at Stortford ■ Lodge yesterday. There was an improved demand, and values were 2s per head better than at the previous fair a fortnight ago. Five-year-olds sold to 20s 5d and six-year-olds to 17s. while two-tooths reached 27s fid. The top price of the fair was 27s 9d for a splendid line of four-loolhs. Wairoa district offerings included the following: Mr. D. Fraser, Mohaka River, 131 fair-framed five-year ewes, mixed in the slipe, a useful line, 17s Id. Mr. I. Curlctt, off country at the back of Wairoa, 200 five-year fairmouthed ewes, with a strong slipe but mixed in condition, 14s 3d. Mr. G. E. Ormond, railed from Nuhaka, 279 fairly-framed, wellmouthed five-year ewes, late shorn, 17s. From Wairoa, a poor conditioned pen of five-year ewes, light framed (p), 4.s fid.
