MEDAL FOR BRAVERY

JOHANNESBURG, Jan. 9. The King’s Medal for bravery was presented by the Governor-General, Sir Patrick Duncan, at Government House recently to Mr. William Tweedale Dulling, who, while a mine overseer at Rose Deep, rescued an injured native under dangerous and arduous conditions after a pressure burst. Mr. Dalling carried out the rescue with the help only of his boss boy, David Simango.

In presenting the medal the Gover-nor-General said it was the .first occasion on which the King’s Medal for bravery had been awarded in South Africa.
