Tocker’s resignation from the' position of Professor of Economics as from February 28, 1950, was accepted with regret at yesterday s meeting of the Canterbury University College Council. Professor Tocker was born in New Zealand in 1884. Mr A. C. Kitto was nominated for the presidency of* the ■ New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at the annual meeting last night of the Wellington centre of the association. Mr W. A. Melrose was elected president of the Wellington centre. Messrs W. S. Coppin and. A. C. Kitto were elected representatives on the N.Z.A.A.A. and Messrs A. B. Chappell and R. Spence delegates to the annual N.Z.A.A.A. conference,—(P.A.)
