DROP IN TONNAGE ON BERLIN AIR-LIFT
LONDON, August 1 (Rec. 1 p.m.) .— The Associated Press Berlin correspondent says that the Berlin air-lift began tapering off today, preparing for the close-down on October 31. Three groups of transport planes, which have been hauling supplies for over a year, have stopped flying and the lift tonnage has dropped to 4890 tons from a daily average of 8000.
