OBITUARY Mr James Black

The death occurred yesterday at Hukarere of Mr James Adam Black. He was born .at Ross 66 years ago, and foi 18 years was foreman for the Public Works Department. He was a member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge, Reef ton. Mr Black is survived by his wife, and one brother, Donald, of Black’s Point. The funeral will take place at Reefton.

The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at the Karoro cemetery, of Mr Charles Gutberlet. of Twelve Mile. The services were conducted by the Rev. A. G. Davidson. The funeral of Mr Thomas Francis Croft, of Christchurch and formerly of Stillwater, took place this morning at Karoro cemetery. The Rey. Father McMonagle celebrated Requiem Mass at St Patrick’s Church and also conducted the service at the graveside. The funeral was one of the largest held in the district for some time, and. a large number of floral tributes was received.
