ALLIES TO RETAIN WIDE CONTROL IN GERMAN AFFAIRS

(Rec. 11.45 a.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 17. Wide control over German aftairs will be retained by the Allies after the formation of the West German Government, said Mr Anthony Panuch, special adviser to the American Military Governor of Germany, General Lucius Clay, and the chairman of the American committee on the tripartite- military Government organisation, says the British United Press. The correspondent quotes Mr Panuch as saying that the British, American and French commanders would continue to supervise reparations, restitutions, education, culture, the press and information services and security measures in their zones.
