CYCLING Back-markers Succeed In 15-mile Race

Back-markers filled the major places in the Greymouth Cycling Club’s road race on Saturday, over a 15-mile course from Karoro to the Taramakau bridge and return. Fastest time was gained by E. Maguigan, who also was first past the post. The result was as follows:—E. Maguigan, 1; E. Patterson, 2; J. Cooper, 3. Time, 34min 27 l-ssec. A boys’ race, over a six-mile course, resulted as follows: —B. Wilson, 1; K. Morgan, 2; D. Clarke, 3. Fastest time was gained by O. Duffy, 16min 50sec.
