CRICKET LINDLEY’S SUCCESSFUL BOWLING IN MATCH AT KUMARA

An outstanding bowling performance by L. C. Lindley, who took five wickets in seven balls, including the hat trick, was the feature of a friendly cricket match played at Kumara yesterday between United and Kumara. United won easily on the first innings. Lindley bowled five overs, ' including three maidens, for five wickets and three runs. ~ „ United scored 203 (Donaldson 54, D. Spender 36 retired, M. Marshall 33 retired, Westwood 14, Blair 13, Thorburn 17 not out. Anderson 12). Bowling for Kjumara Hammersley, a young and promising left-hander, took three wickets for 37 and McEnaney one for five. Kumara scored 70 (Bell 24, Lee 10), Lindley five for three, Spender two for 11, Donaldson two for 15, Andersonone for seven.
