OBITUARY Mr Thomas Croft
The death occurred last evening, at Christchurch, of Mr Thomas Francis Croft, formerly a timber contractor of Stillwater. Born at Oamaru 64 years ago, he came to Stillwater with his late wife and family in 1921. Mr Croft went to Christchurch to reside six years ago. and had been in failing health for several months. Predeceased by his wife three years ago, he is survived by four sons, Thomas, William and Edmond (Stillwater), and George (Ngakawau), and one daughter, Miss Sylvia Croft (Stillwater). The funeral will take place at Karoro cemetery on Monday morning, following Requiem Mass at St Patrick’s Church. Mrs Eliza Knight The death occurred on Thursday at Hokitika, of Mrs Eliza Knight, aged 83. Born in Northern Ireland, Mrs Knight had lived in Hokitika for 76 years. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs W. A. Eggling and Misses Elsie, Elizabeth, Edith and Isobel Knight; one grand-daughter, and two sisters, Mrs W. Eskersley (Blackball) and Mrs A. Tyler (Greymouth). Her husband predeceased her many years ago. The funeral took place at Hokitika this morning. - Mrs Martha Russell The death occurred yesterday at Greymouth, after a brief illness, of Mrs Martha Elizabeth Russell, aged 68. She was born at Crushingdon and lived all her life on the West Coast. For 27 years Mrs Russell lived at Hukarere, and 10 years ago, on the death of her husband, moved to Barry - town. Recently she had lived at Blaketown. She is survived by one .daughter. Mrs A. T. Richards/ (Blaketown) and one son, William (Reefton). The funeral will take place at the Karoro cemeter on Monday. The funeral of Mr James McLean of Greymouth, tcok place at the Karoro cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev T. G. Campbell conducted the services.
