Radios in Schools
A protest against the use of loud-; speakers in schools was made by Miss C. E. Robinson, girl’s senior vocational guidance officer in Christchurch, when she spoke at a meeting of the New Education Fellowship. “These loudspeakers are being proudly introduced into school after school,” she said. “The head teacher’s voice suddenly yelps into the classroom. He becomes just a voice, and a bodiless voice. I think it is a hateful business. ” The use of radio in schools, except for the specially prepared broadcasts to schools she also considered bad,. Miss Robinson added.
