Explosion Of Beer Jar
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day.
As the result of ramming a cork in a gallon glass jar of beer on Saturday evening, an Auckland visitor to Wellington, f Arthur James Kihnartin, aged 33, a bus-driver, received injuries necessitating his'treatment at the casualty department of the Wellington Public Hospial. The beer was about one and a half inches from the top of the jar when Kilmartin banged down the cork with his right hand and the jar exploded into fragments. An artery in his right arm was cut, three fingers of his right hand were damaged and the palm of his left hand was punctured.
