CHANGES ON GREY TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL BOARD

The terms of four members of the Greymouth Technical High School's Board of Governors expire this week, and two at least attended their last meeting last evening. Among the retiring members is the chairman, Mr F. L. Turley, who was replaced as the representative of the Canterbury Education Board on the board last month by Mr W. S. McClymont. This decision, however, will be contested by Mr Turley and some other members at the meeting of tiie Education Board in Christchurch on Friday, when an effort will be made to have Mr Turley’s name substituted for that of Mr McClymont as the board’s representative. In any case, it is understood that Mr Turley is likely to obtain a seat on the Board of Governors. Of the other three retiring members, Mr J. J. Haddock is the only one likely to return to the board. He is one of the two representatives of trade unions on the board, and an election will be held on Saturday evening to decide on the unions’ new representative. Mr G. G. Gillespie (employers’ representative) is not seeking re-elec-tion. Mr J. McNulty, school committees’ representative, is also retiring, in favour of Mr J. W. Grant, of Blaketown.
