WATERFRONT HOURS: NO DECISION YET

No decision has yet been announced by the Waterfront Commission on the claims of the Greymouth Waterside Wprkers’ Union to reduced hours of work on Saturdays. The men’s requests were placed before the employers at Wellington last week by the president (Mi’ H. Outram) and the secretary (Mr A. Panther) but no finality was reached in the discussions, and it was stated this afternoon by Mr Outram that nothing satisfactory had been received to date. A decision is, however. expected shortly, but, if work after 6 o’clock next Saturday is required, the normal hours will be observed. *
