Prison for Car Conversion.
“Car conversion has been a major crime and a problem for the last 2a years. There are many people who think that the court has been far too lenient and that probation should not be granted. There is a difference between cases, and in some cases it is granted, but not in this case. This observation was made by the Magistrate (Mr. Luxford) this morning in dealing with a case of car conversion. The accused, William Stanley Sowden, aged 26, admitted the offence, and was imprisoned for four months.—(P, A,)
