Complete Food Shop for Melbourne
The first complete food shop in Australia will open in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne this month. It will sell all types of food from confectionery and wines to meat, groceries, vegetables and fish and is claimed to be one of the most up-to-date in the world. It is the first of 10 to be built. The idea for the company behind the venture came from 50 exR.A.A.F. men who raised the capital, bought the site, and, in some cases, worked on the building. More than 1500 ex-service-men and women will eventually be employed. The store will be equipped with its own bakery and kitchen. The company’s aim is to sell high quality foods at minimum price. Delivery vans will be equipped with refrigeratortrailers.
