Women’s Institute
Reefton The monthly meeting of the Reefton Women’s Institute was well attended. Mrs. A. Wells presided. The singing of the institute song, and the aspirations opened the gathering. A vote of thanks was accorded those members, who helped to make the recent shop day a success. It was decided to make a donation to the Reefton Fire Brigade to help with the coming fire brigades’ demonstration at Reefton. A donation was forwarded also to Dominion headquarters as the Reefton Institute gift to Princess Elizabeth’s 21st birthday gift from the New Zealand institutes.-
It was decided to help the Reefton R.S.A. to organise an evening welcome to Mrs. D. Sharpe, an- English bride who has recently arrived in Reefton.
The hostesses foi’ the afternoon were Mesdames' Cochrane and Harvey. The monthly competition winners wer.—Best Bloom: Mrs. Mitchell 1, Mrs. Eagei’ 2. Sugar bag article: Mrs. Eager 1, Mrs. Mitchell 2. It was decided to hold an institute picnic early in the New Year.
