Welcome to English Bride at Reefton
Mrs. D. Sharpe, who is a recent arrival from England, was the guest at a social function arranged as a welcome to New Zealand by members of the Reefton branch of the R.S.A. (women’s section) and the Reefton Women’s Institute. Mrs. A. Wells and Mrs. Robert Cochrane for the institute and the R.S.A. respectively welcomed Mrs. Sharpe to Reefton, and expressed the hope that New Zealand would be a second home, to her. A number of gifts were presented to the guest of the evening. Musical items were given by Mesdames Leaning and Cochrane and a sketch by Mesdames Eklund, Hobbs, Sharpe and Eager. Mesdames Archer and Eklund were the accompanists. Competitions and games were included on the programme. Mrs. Sharpe thanked those present for the gifts and for the welcome extended to her. Supper was served and the singing of Auld Lang Syne closed' the evening.

The engagement is announced ol My lie Irene, second daughter of Mr and. Mrs. R. Dense, Moana, to Clifford Francis, eldest son of Mr. ano Mrs. C. Hunt, Cowpex- street, Greymouth.
Arnott —Manderson
The engagement is announced of Joy Eileen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Manderson, Barrytown, to Walter William, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Arnott, Greymouth. Personal'Notes Mr. and Mrs. J. Ower left this morning for Auckland, en route to Edmonton, Canada, where they will reside.
