i LONDON, May 31. After the first month’s county cricket Lancashire. Middlesex,, and Yorkshire, each with 40 points, lead in the table. Rain again interfered ■with some matches in the latest round. Results:— Yorkshire v. Kent. — Yorkshire, 'first innings 236 (Hutton 87. Leyland 88; Martin took five wickets for 59); second innings 175 ("Wright took five wickets for . 50). Kent,, first innings 106; second innings 113. Yorkshire won by .192 runs. Derby v. Hampshire.—Derby, first innings 183 (Dean took seven wickets for 51); second innings 216 (Gladwin not out 61). Hampshire, first innings 190 (Hill 69); second innings, three down for 211 (Bailey not. out 76;

Eager not out 78). Hampshire won by seven wickets. ‘ Northants v. Surrey.—Northants, first innings 126 (Parker took four wickets for 8); second innings 101 1 (Bedser took seven wickets for 16). Surrey, first innings 192; second innings, one down for 37. Surrey won by nine wickets. Sussex v. Glamorgan. — Sussex, first innings 142 (Judge took four wickets for 28); second innings 229 (Cox 86). Lancashire won by an innings and 59 runs. Middlesex v. Notts. —Middlesex, first innings 163 (Edrich 54; Butler took five wickets for 36); second innings, two down for 8. Notts, first innings nine down for 197, declared (Gray took four wickets for 37). The match was drawn.

India v. Hampshire.—Hampshire, first innings 197 (Hill 49, Herman 44; Nayudu took three wickets for 33, Bannerjee two for 27, and Shinde two for 46). Rain delayed the start of the match, and play closed after Hampshire’s innings.
