TIMBER INDUSTRY STRIKE
“FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS” Described as being the “result of further developments in the timber workers’ dispute” special general meetings will be held at Ross, Ruatapu and Hokitika this evening and at Paroa, Kumara, Moana, Ngahere and Ahaura to-morrow. The meetings are to be addressed by delegates, from the West Coast Trades Council and by Union officials. The decision to hold the above meetings follows a meeting of the Trades Council last evening when officers of the Timber Workers’ Union were present. . The Secretary of the Union, Mr. F. L. Turley, said to-day that be had nothing to say regarding the developments other than that the meetings would be held as advertised.
