BOWLING Karoro and Westport 'women’s bowling teams met on the Karorc green on Tuesday in a match for the Wilson Challenge Shield, Karoro being successful. The visitors were entertained at lunch at the green prior to the match. Mrs S. Peek (President of the Karoro Club) welcomed the Westport team and Mrs W. D. Wilson responded. Later the Shield was presented to the winning team by Mrs Wilson, who thanked the Karoro Club for its hospitality. The visitors were entertained at the pictures and at supper in the evening, and left yesterday afternoon on return to Westport. CRICKET

Lt Denia, the former Ross and West Coast representative cricketer, secured six wickets for 15 runs for West Coast Old Boys 'against High. School Old Boys at Chistchurch on Saturday. Denia included the hat trick in his achievement.
