GREY FIRE BOARD
QUARTERLY MEETING
The quarterly meeting ol the Grey Fire Board was held yesterday, there being present: Messrs. W. H. Parfitt (chairman), N. D. Bowman, W. E. Olds, J. B. Kent, J. Saunders, the secretary (Mr. W. E. Pring) and Superintendent A. White. A mo lion of sympathy was passed with the relations of the late Mr. P. Blanchfield, senr., a life member of the Brigade. The Superintendent reported that the Brigade had five calls io fires during the quarter cnd?d June 30. lhe report added: The whole of the plant is in good order, and the dirties of tae careiakc-r have been faithfully carried out. The usual musters and lire calls have been well-attended. . Die auxiliary members of the Brigade practise every week and are of great assistance to the mam brigade at fires. The suction hose for the central trailer bump should arrive this week. , Y . Advice was received from Gieymouth E.P.S. that it would bear the charge for fitting klaxon-horns, to replace sirens on the Board’s engines. The Greymouth Borough Council was given permission to erect a portable shed, lor tools and gear for use in an emergency, on the Board s section in High Street. It is stated that lhe shed would only be built if the need arose. The financial statement showed a credit balance was £95/11/11.
