The fruit industry marketing committee appointed by the. Government held its first sitting in Wellington yesterday. The- Acting-Minister for Marketing (Mr. Lee Martin), who presided, said the function of the-'commit-tee was to recommend, the belt means of carrying into effect requests from the industry that the Government should take- over the marketing of pip fruits, both locally and. overseas.
