KUMARA NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. J The members of the Kumara Sports Club met at the Memorial Hall on Friday evening to show their appreciation of the services gendered to the club by Mrs. M. Rochford, who was presented with an eiderdown quilt. A number of vocal and instrumental items were contributed. Mr. A. Seebeck officiated at the piano. . The claim situated at Payne’s Gully, owned by Kumara Goldfields Ltd., has temporarily closed own, with the result that a number of men are out of employment. Taking advantage of the offer made by the Unemployment Board, the Kumara Borough Council has found work for a number of unemployed.
