AUSTRALIAN LOAN FAILURE. LONDON, June 2.1. The Australian Loan opened at ten shillings discount. The underwriters are believed to be left with iiitythre per cent, of the issue. The disappointing result of the Australian loan was not surprising, in view of the unsettled state of the giltedged market. The Australian Associated Press financial writer points out that the bulk of the original loan passed to the hands of the short term market, which meant the conversion issue had to attract fresh applicants, which was most difficult at the moment. DUNEDIN, June 22. Clutha, River return for the week ended June IS, was 150ozs, for 134 hours. PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE. Estates of a. value of .£338,139 were reported and accepted for administration by the Public Trustee during the month of May, compared’ with .£515,8 10 for Hie previous month. Grants of administration made bj' the Supreme Court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 127 for the month. During the month 383 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were deposited for sate custody by living testators, and 326 existing wills wore revised io provide for changes desired by testators.
