FATAL INJURIES.

TIMARU, April 28.
Fatal injuries were suffered by Joseph Reynolds, aged 84, a porter at the Arowhenua Hotel, near Timaru, to-night when, in crossing the road in front of the hotel, he walked in front of a motor-car driven by Russell Craig, of Geraldine, Reynolds, who had been in the hotel for 16 years, went out to collect a newspaper.
WORKMAN FALLS FIFTY FEET.
WELLINGTON, April 28.
While working on the new hangar at Rongatai aerodrome to-day, R. J. Roberts missed his footing and fell from the roof, a distance of 50 feet. He was taken to hospital suffering severe shock, injuries to the spine, and ribs. His condition to-night was reported to be satisfactory.
FARM LABOURER SHOT.
NAPIER, April 28.
Edward Thompson, aged 18, a farm labourer, employed on E. Cole’s farm at Springhill, Ongaonga, was found last evening shot in the leg. He died before the arrival of a doctor. He was. in the habit of carrying a loaded revolver in his trousers pocket and is believed to have accidentally discharged it, the bullet entering his right thigh.
