Blomfield had his opponent in the cornel’ with what the referee considered a stranglehold, when the controlling official, Mr. J. McLean, ordered and forced a break. He was struck on the back of the neck by Blomfield. Almost immediately Stein bounced off the ropes with a flying tackle, which caught the referee unawares and sent both him and Blomfield sprawling. Stein then pounced on his opponent to win a fall with a body press, the referee having quickly regained his feet to witness the procedure and award the fall.

WELLINGTON, April 26.

Richards knocked Rumberg over with repeated shoulder tackles, and took a fall in the third round with a headlock and a press, In the fifth round, after a. good deal of exciting action, Rumberg dazed Richards with forearm jolts, and dumped him, knocking him out.
